Captain Clark

Captain Clark is a towering, gangly figure modeled on the antagonist from the indie Backrooms film that inspired the game. He does not patrol on a fixed route — he reacts. The moment your character enters his detection cone (roughly a forward-facing arc plus a short behind radius), he locks on and accelerates into a relentless sprint. Audio is your early-warning system: a low fluorescent hum tightens into a sudden silence, then heavy footsteps, before he is ever visible around a corner.

What makes Clark dangerous is persistence, not speed. He will follow you through doorways and across rooms far longer than most horror-game chasers, and he 'remembers' the last direction he saw you flee. That is why baiting him one way and cutting the other — the ankle breaker — is the single reliable escape. Community testing suggests his top speed slightly exceeds a sprinting player on straightaways, but he loses ground hard on tight turns, which is exactly where the mechanic is designed to be used.

Clark is also the center of the game's lore. Players report that standing still and making eye contact (instead of fleeing) sometimes triggers unique, unconfirmed behavior — the seed of the 'dark secret' entries circulating on YouTube. Treat those clips as leads, not fact, until you verify them in your own session.
